After being given a graph that had a smiley face with just eyes and a mouth, the assignment was to "better" the face. So I started by adding hair; to do this I used a quadratic function, which would create a parabola shape. I made the slope wider by decreasing the value of the number in front of the parentheses. Then, so the hair did not go on forever, I restricted the domain by adding brackets with an inequality inside. I repeated this again to add another strand of hair.
The next feature I added was a mustache, this was accomplished by using a horizontal line. I also restricted the range by using the brackets. I repeated this step too; in order to thicken the mustache.
After that, I decided to add sunglasses. I did this by copying the formula for the eyes and changing the slop to make if bigger. Then I use a basic identity function to create the lines going back from the lenses on either side. And a horizontal line connected the two circles, I restricted the range to make the line stop a the beginning of each lens.
Lastly I made a neck and shoulders with vertical and horizontal lines. Then I used a quadratic formula to make a parabola shape which looks like necklace. With all of these formulas I used brackets to restrict the ranges and domains, so the lines didn't continue on forever.
